I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
