Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's first title following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

The win also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 different competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on court had led observers to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 early chances in a close final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned the win with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
